Lamine Yamal wins Best Emerging Player Award at Globe Soccer Awards 2024

On the evening of December 27, 2024, Lamine Yamal was awarded the Best Emerging Player of 2024 at the Globe Soccer Awards, which was attended by figures including Cristiano Ronaldo.

The awards, which mark the end of the year, are a recognition of Lamine Yamal’s outstanding performance throughout 2024. His achievements, both with his club and individually, have helped him stand out among his peers and even players older than him, despite being just 17 years old.

The awards ceremony was held at the Antlas Hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta, his agent Jorge Mendes, his family, and other guests, accompanied Lamine Yamal.

As he received the award, Lamine Yamal expressed his gratitude, particularly thanking his family for their continuous support in his football development, as well as acknowledging his roots. He said that: “Hello everyone, I want to thank Globe Soccer Awards, my family, my mother, and my brother for being here, and my father who couldn’t be here because he is in Barcelona. I love you all.”

He continued: “I want to thank Barcelona, my team, which I’m very proud of, and the Spanish National Team for our success in winning the European Championship. I also want to thank everyone, my teammates, the board, coaches, Xavi, and Dela Fuente. Thank you.”

Lamine Yamal’s award marks a significant milestone, as he was recognized as the best player under 21 years of age for 2024. This follows his previous achievement of winning the Kopa Trophy awarded by France Football.

Cristiano Ronaldo also won an award as the Best Player of 2024, having scored the most goals that year.Another notable winner was Antia Bonamati, who was named the Best Female Player of 2024, also playing for FC Barcelona Women’s Team.
