Rihanna confirms third pregnancy at the 2025 Met Gala

Global music icon Rihanna has announced she is expecting her third child with partner A$AP Rocky. The 37-year-old singer made the revelation on the red carpet at the 2025 Met Gala in New York, fashion’s most prestigious night.

Radiant in a stunning ensemble, Rihanna proudly cradled her baby bump as she posed for photographers against the backdrop of this year’s navy-and-daffodil-themed carpet.

Rihanna, born Robyn Fenty, and A$AP Rocky—whose real name is Rakim Mayers—are already parents to two sons: RZA, born in May 2022, and Riot, born in August 2023.

A$AP Rocky, who served as a co-chair of this year’s event, confirmed the pregnancy on the red carpet. “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” he said in response to reporters’ congratulations. “I’m glad everybody’s happy for us—because we’re definitely happy.”

The Met Gala, held annually at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, celebrates the opening of the Costume Institute’s new fashion exhibit. This year’s theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” marked the first time since 2003 that the exhibition focused solely on menswear.

Rihanna was the final guest to arrive at the star-studded event, maintaining her tradition of dramatic entrances and headline-making moments. She is known for her memorable pregnancy reveals—debuting her first baby bump in a Harlem photoshoot in 2022 and revealing her second pregnancy during her 2023 Super Bowl halftime performance.

She joins a growing list of celebrities who have chosen the Met Gala stage to announce major life moments. Last year, tennis legend Serena Williams and model Karlie Kloss both revealed their pregnancies at the event.
